Community Events at Lenses & Brushes
Lenses & Brushes is more than a place to take a class—it’s a space to gather, share work, and be part of a creative community. Our Community Events celebrate artists and photographers at every stage, offering opportunities to show work, participate in monthly challenges, and connect through shared creative experiences.
The Featured Artist Series
Featured Photographer: Jerry Miller
Jerry Miller works primarily in digital photography, drawing inspiration from the nostalgia and sensibility of the film era. His images explore landscapes, cityscapes, and liminal spaces—places that feel suspended between the familiar and the unknown. Guided by curiosity, he also experiments with street photography and light painting, allowing his practice to evolve organically.
Working without a fixed plan, Jerry responds intuitively to light, atmosphere, and environment. His photographs capture quiet transitions and fleeting moments—subtle shifts that invite viewers to slow down and look a little closer. Through his work, Jerry shares a sense of wandering and discovery, revealing beauty in the spaces just beyond the everyday.

The Studio Prompt
Creativity grows with practice—and sometimes all we need is a simple prompt to get started. The Studio Prompt is a monthly photo and art challenge designed to encourage exploration, reflection, and play.

Each month, we share a new creative prompt to inspire making without pressure or perfection. All levels and mediums are welcome, including film and digital photography, painting, drawing, mixed media, and alternative processes. There’s no “right” outcome—just an invitation to notice, experiment, and create.

Participate in your own way, at your own pace. Share your work with the community, or keep it as part of your personal practice. However you engage, The Studio Prompt is about staying curious and making space for creativity.
Open to all. New prompt released monthly.
A monthly photo + art challenge designed to encourage exploration, reflection, and play.

As you step into the new year, what are you choosing to bring with you? It might be a feeling, a habit, a place, a memory, or something quietly meaningful. Interpret the prompt in your own way and through your chosen medium—film, digital photography, painting, drawing, mixed media, or alternative processes are all welcome.

This challenge is about intention, not perfection. One piece, one moment, one reflection to begin the year.
Submissions are collected through a simple Google Form. One piece per person, all mediums welcome.
