Photography as Storytelling

A 6-Week Creative Photography Experience for Youth

Photography is more than learning how to use a camera—it’s a powerful way for young people to tell their stories, build confidence, and see the world with intention. In Photography as Storytelling, students explore photography as a form of personal expression, reflection, and communication.

This thoughtfully designed 6-week course guides students through the creative process step-by-step, helping them develop both technical photography skills and emotional awareness, while encouraging curiosity, empathy, and self-confidence.

Each week introduces a new storytelling theme, allowing students to explore identity, relationships, and place—without pressure to be “perfect” or overly technical. The focus is on meaning, creativity, and growth, making this course ideal for beginners and emerging photographers alike.
